The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

My Penn State education launched me into a long and varied career. I was a USAF staff meteorologist for 20 years serving with the 7th Air Force in Vietnam, the USAF Space Program, the U.S. Army Combat Development Command, and the USAF Military Airlift Command. I retired in 1980 in the rank of lieutenant colonel. In civilian life I had three additional careers: a university development officer, a CEO and President of a home health company and a volunteer executive for an endowment fund that aids in finding homes for homeless people. I was fortunate to receive many awards and decorations including the Bronze Star Medal, four meritorious medals (three U.S. Air Force and one U.S. Army), and the USAF Zimmerman Award for outstanding achievement in climatology. My civilian awards include the Volunteer Fellow Award from the Road Home Homeless Shelter and the University of Utah Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Department of Atmospheric Sciences. My wife, Harriet, and I have established a Penn State Endowment in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. We are world travelers with the Penn State Alumni Association and other groups.
